25 years on and still going strong!!
It has been an entertaining 25 years of rallying for Sean Boyle in the Galway Motor Club, which will this year see him using the same Ford Escort Mark 1 that he competed in the Galway International way back in 1985. The car was bought in a scrap yard in 1982 and has been in continuous development over the years by himself and his son in his own garage. It is now a class 12 Group 4 car, with the latest addition being a six speed sequential gearbox which will be tested over this weekend’s local stages.
He first competed in his first international rally 1985 at the age of 25 and this event will see him celebrate his 50th birthday as well as 25 years of rallying.
Keeping it in the family, his son Damien will be joining him as navigator, who also competes in some junior rallies in his Honda civic.
